Even small photovoltaic systems need to be cleaned regularly
to maintain their efficiency. Dust, pollen, bird droppings, and
urban debris reduce electricity production. Proper maintenance is therefore
essential.

Why clean your solar panels?

A dirty panel can lose up to 15% of its performance. Cleaning helps to maintain optimal production and extend the lifespan of the modules.

Robot or manual cleaning?

Cleaning robots are ideal for large solar power plants. For a residential installation, their use is often impossible (too small a surface area, limited access). In this case, opt for safe manual cleaning:
  • Use telescopic poles equipped with microfiber cloths
  • Clean with fresh water, without abrasive products, as you would with windows
  • Never climb onto the roof: risk of serious fall
  • Never walk on the panels: you could damage them.

Practical advice

  • Choose a cool, cloudy day to avoid thermal shock
  • Rinse thoroughly to remove particles
  • Avoid high-pressure cleaners, which can damage the seals
